An intersting post by Jeremiah Owyang helping the new bloggers. This is relevant for even those who had been blogging for sometime but could not make good impact with their content amongst readers. His tips for effective blogging are:



1. Shorten everything

2. Separate content into easy simple ‘chunks’,

3. Format the text, making it easy to scan,

4. Put the most important stuff in titles,

5. Use visual stimuli to draw the eye between the meat (images, indentations, quotes),

6. Reduce and boil it down,



I want to add one more point here.



7. Make your main point(s) early in the post.



People like to read the gist of the story quick and fast and when the RSS feeds creates the excerpts, a foreground of the main story often pushes the main point out of the excerpt.
